Absent senators stall adoption of committee reports

Abuja - Senate has deferred the reports of two Conference Committees due to a lack of required number of senators to pass the instruments.

The Senate leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba moved a motion asking the House to step down the report on the review of the Constitution to Tuesday next week.

Before putting the motion to vote, David Mark, said if there were not enough legislators, it would be improper to consider and approve the report.

He appealed to senators to be present at the Senate to to consider the report.

The Senate also deferred the report of the Conference Committee on the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Centre.
