APC warns aspirants against campaigns of calumny

As the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress begins to witness a surge in the number of aspirants for various elective positions, Chairman of the party, Isaac Kekemeke, has warned them against campaigns of bitterness and rancour.

He also assured all aspirants of a level playing ground and fairness, as no candidate would be imposed and favored above others.

Kekemeke gave the warning in Akure when Mr. Morayo Lebi, a legal practitioner picked a form to indicate his intention to run for the senatorial elections in 2015.

Lebi is hoping to fly the flag of the party in contesting for the Ondo South Senatorial seat during the election.

After picking his expression of interest form, Lebi said he was in the race to contributed his quota in the development of his community and the people of his senatorial district.

He said, “We can see that there is a need for improvement in governance and the care of our people.

“Having recorded successes in the legal profession and in private practice, I am here to bring my wealth of experience to bear on the improvement of the specify.”

He said he would ensure the development of polices that would transform the lives of the people.

The party chairman, Kekekemeke, however noted that all aspirants should conduct their campaigns with decorum and without rancour.

He said, “I want to state that I have no candidate as Chairman of the party in the state, and the state executive council has no candidate.

“We will provide a level playing field for all aspirants and we urge all aspirants to code it their campaigns rancour-free and bitterness-free.”
