Sheriff, who was once the board of trustees (BoT) chairman of the defunct opposition All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) under which he persistently defeated the PDP since 1999, recently dumped his new party, All Progressives Congress (APC), to join the PDP.
Leaders of Borno PDP, in the letter addressed to Sheriff, also enjoined him to the state to national limelight.
In a letter signed by the Borno state chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Baba Basharu, which was circulated to journalists yesterday, he said receiving Sheriff as a member and leader of the party was an honour to the party.
“Through this letter, I wish to acknowledge receipt of your letter informing us of your intention and willingness to join our great party. The decision of the former governor to join the PDP will add positive value, promote progress and prosperity to all PDP family and good people of Borno State,” he said.
