Fayemi’s N50m beds

One of the beds in Ekiti government lodge.

The PUNCH of Wednesday, October 22, 2014, reported a story credited to the new Ekiti State Governor, Peter Ayodele Fayose, in which he berated his predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, for having spent N50m in purchasing two beds at the new government house in Ekiti built by Fayemi. Fayose had earlier taken a swipe at the sprawling government house which he considered as financial recklessness.

We may, therefore, advise Fayose in this spirit of his modesty to shun the use of the new government house with all the appurtenances thereof and make use of the old government house. He should as a matter of urgency auction the new government house to the public or better still convert the building into another use for Ekiti State Government. It is by doing this that we can be convinced in his act of prudence and modesty.
