Ogun State chapter of the Labour Party on Monday said it has given directive to its lawyers to commence contempt of court proceeding against the national chairman of the party, Chief Dan Nwanyawu and the national Secretary, Baradeen Paiko, and 24 others for allegedly disobeying a valid court order
In a joint statement by the party Secretary in the state, Mr Oginni Olaposi and Financial Secretary, Mr Arabambi Abayomi, they stated the state chapter of the party had already in a suit FHC/L/CS/123/14 before a Federal High Court, Lagos, and subtitled notice of consequence of disobedience to court order dated September 17, 2014, notified them that unless they obey the directive of the court, they ‘will be guilty of contempt of court and will be liable to be committed to prison.’
Oginni and Abayomi further averred that the sins allegedly committed by Nwanyanwu, Paiko and Joseph Akinlaja among others include causing a letter to be written to the Independent National Electoral Commission in respect of the congresses conducted in Ogun last March 13 and 19 in disobedience to court order dated February 2, 2014 by a Federal High Court, Lagos.
