Oyo needs continuity of APC govt —Ajimobi

Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has said the state would witness sustainable growth and economic progress if the All Progressives Congress was voted into power for a second term in 2015.

The governor, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Dr. Gbade Ojo, at a town hall meeting organised by a member representing Ibarapa-East/Ido federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Sunday Adepoju, in Ido area of Ibadan, said the party has raised the standard of governance in Nigeria.

He said, “The APC has raised the standard of governance in Nigeria by presenting quality people as lawmakers and political office holders in the current political dispensation. The calibre of people put forward as legislators by the opposition party in the last dispensation was largely responsible for the elusive peace and tranquility witnessed at the time. Only the continuity of APC administration in the state can enhance growth and development.”

The governor said the kind of growth and development attained by Lagos State could not be divorced from the continuity of government the state has enjoyed since 1999, adding that Oyo State had not been that lucky.

“A term per governor that has been the lot of the state over the years contributed to its underdevelopment in the past. Since this administration took over, we have done a lot to bring back the good fortune of the state. I, therefore, call on our people not to allow reactionary forces to draw the hands of the state backwards come 2015,” he said.

While addressing the people, Adepoju said the programme was organised to fulfill the pledge he made while soliciting for their votes.
