Arrest made after shooting in Tameside

Police investigating the murder of a man in Tameside have made an arrest.

Kieran McGrath, 26, was found by officers after he collapsed outside Ashton Police Station on Saturday night. He had been shot.

Officers and paramedics tried to resuscitate him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Greater Manchester Police statement said: "Kieran had been inside the Sheldon Arms Pub with friends. At around 10:20pm he walked out of the main entrance of the pub and onto the car park before walking to a white Audi A3.

After leaving the pub, several shots were fired in his direction and one hit him.

Post mortem results show Kieran died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Police have arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of murder and he remains in custody for questioning.
