Mantu, Amaju hail Unity football tourney

Senator Ibrahim Mantu and Nigeria Football Federation president, Pinnick Amaju, have hailed the Nigeria Unity Football Tournament, pledging their support for the event.

The National Organising Committee of the tournament in collaboration with United Summit Friends Development Association recently inaugurated the President Goodluck Jonathan 10 million branded balls in Abuja.

The balls will be distributed free to youths in the 774 Local Government Areas in the states.

The tournament begins on December 4 at the National Stadium, Abuja, where the balls will be distributed. The tournament is in its final stage in Bauchi State.

Speaking on the occasion, Mantu, who is the chairman, Board of Trustee of the Nigeria Unity Football Tournament, stated that the project was an avenue for the youths to use football to promote peace and unity in the country, instead of being used as instruments of violence.

On his part, Amaju, who was represented by Ibrahim Musa, expressed satisfaction with the tourney, saying necessary support will be given to the event to enhance its aims and objectives.
