Tunde, Olayide Bakare
For Tunde Bakare, who was Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s running-mate in the 2011 presidential elections, life indeed begins at 60. To say that the pastor, Latter Rain Assembly, Lagos, has a lot of clout is stating the obvious— he has his tentacles spread everywhere. This he proved at the various ceremonies held in his honour to mark his birthday. Monarchs, politicians, business moguls and a handful of Very Important Personalities graced the occasion.
But the celebrations did not end. His wife, Olayide, who is fondly called Mrs. Bee, also clocked 54 years a few days after Bakare’s birthday. Though the British-born mother of five children did not throw a party as grand as her husband’s, many friends and family members did not hesitate to celebrate privately with her. Quite amiable, her pretty face is not a constant feature on the church’s pulpit like most pastors’ wives.
